Alexandria Police and Fire personnel responded to an incident that occurred around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at the 24 Express Food Store in the 4000 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue.
One person left the scene on a stretcher. A black male stood shirtless in front of the store while being questioned by police.
Two women standing by the side of the 24 Express parking lot said there was “a scuffle” and “someone got stabbed.” Both women asked that their names not be used.
The Alexandria Police Department did not immediately return request for comment Tuesday evening.
The convergence of police and emergency vehicles blocked the northbound lanes of Mt. Vernon Avenue near the Arlandria convenience store and Exxon gas station. Dozens of nearby residents stood across Mt. Vernon Avenue along Four Mile Road to watch the scene.
Arlington County EMS personnel also responded to the incident.
