• Dumfries grocery permits return to council Tuesday (potomaclocal.com) — Dumfries Town Council is set to vote Tuesday on key permits for a large grocery store, drive-thru pharmacy, and additional retail on Old Stage Coach Road, after unanimously approving the rezoning last month. The project, by Bridgeline Development, could bring a Publix-sized supermarket to town, but the chain isn't officially named in Tuesday's agenda items.
   

• Virginia upcoming events Oct 05 (lemonwire.com) — Dumfries residents have a notable option close to home this week: the Ohio Players perform at The Rose Gaming Resort on Sunday evening, October 11. The statewide roundup also highlights concerts, theater, sports, and family events across Virginia, giving you plenty of choices if you're up for a short drive beyond town.
