FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax County fire and rescue personnel were on the scene of a house fire in the Fairfax area of the county early Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Units responded just before 7 p.m. for the report of a garage fire in the 11300 block of Bulova Lane, according to a post on the fire and rescue department's Facebook page.
When units arrived on the scene, they found smoke and fire coming from the attached garage of a single-family home, the post said. Fire was extending into the first floor of the building.
"Crews immediately went to work to deploy handlines and initiate an aggressive fire attack while conducting searches and check for extension throughout the home," the post said. "All occupants were confirmed out prior to arrival."
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage, limiting extension into the home, according to Fairfax Fire and Rescue. No injuries to occupants or fire personnel were reported. Red Cross were on the scene assisting.
Investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire and extent of the damage. This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
