FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Virginia State Police issued a CODI Alert Sunday night for a missing 17-year-old girl who authorities say could be in danger.
The alert was issued on behalf of the Fairfax County Police Department for Jasmin Ismary Garcia, 17. Police said Garcia was last seen Aug. 18 in Fairfax County.
Virginia State Police said investigators determined Garcia's disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety.
Garcia is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. She has red hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a dark blue sports bra, gray shorts and white tennis shoes, according to the CODI Alert.
Anyone who sees Garcia should call 911. Anyone with information about her whereabouts can also contact the Fairfax County Police Department's 24-hour dispatch line at 703-691-2131.
Virginia's CODI Alert program is used to notify the public about missing or endangered children whose cases do not meet the criteria for an AMBER Alert.
