FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A Fairfax County Public Schools bus attendant is facing four assault and battery charges after City of Fairfax Police said an investigation found he struck the same student multiple times in July.

Sung Soo Bang, 73, of Burke was charged with four counts of assault and battery, according to police. He voluntarily turned himself in and was released on a summons issued by a magistrate.

City police said they were notified July 24 of a reported assault involving an FCPS bus attendant and a student.

Police Reviewed School Bus Video

Detectives obtained and reviewed video from a school bus that was transporting students to a summer program, according to police.

Investigators determined the bus attendant struck the student in the head during the incident reported to police. Detectives also identified additional incidents in which they said the same bus attendant assaulted the student during July.

Police did not disclose the student's age, identify the summer program or provide details about the other alleged assaults.

The case was presented to the Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, which determined there was sufficient probable cause to pursue criminal charges, according to police.

Bang has a pending court date in Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Police said no booking photo was available.

The charges are allegations, and Bang is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
