FAIRFAX, VA — Another restaurant in the Fairfax area has been burglarized overnight, this time in Fairfax City.
Fairfax City police said an unknown suspect forced entry into Marumen Ramen on Old Pickett Road overnight Oct. 20-21. The suspect stole money and a laptop before leaving the business, police said.
This burglary follows a string of similar overnight thefts at Fairfax County restaurants.
Last month, Patch reported on nine restaurant burglaries in Fairfax County between July and October. If connected to the other break-ins, the Marumen Ramen case would raise that number to ten.
Fairfax County police are still investigating the initial nine burglaries and believe they are related. Fairfax City police are investigating the Marumen Ramen burglary, but their weekly crime bulletin did not mention a possible connection to the county cases.
Patch asked both departments whether they believe the Marumen Ramen burglary is connected to the earlier break-ins, and we will update this report as more information becomes available.
