ICA Language Services (ICA), a family-owned, woman-led small business based in Arlington, is celebrating its 40th anniversary, marking decades of supporting the U.S. military and diplomatic community through language training and testing. Founded in April 1986 as Inlingua Foreign Language Center, a 6-classroom language school, ICA expanded under the leadership of Deidre Doyle, an entrepreneur with a background in organizational management who joined the company the same year. As a military spouse, she had developed a deep understanding of military organizations and culture, helping shape ICA into a trusted provider of language training and testing for military professionals. Doyle became a partner in 1993 and sole owner in 2009, when she changed the name to ICA Language Services. Today, ICA operates a 60+ classroom schoolhouse in Rosslyn and has delivered nearly five million hours of language instruction and more than 30,000 language assessments across 120+ languages. ICA also provides training on military bases throughout the US and abroad. The company is now led by President and CEO Lexie Casey, Doyle’s daughter, who joined ICA in 2009 after a decade in government contracting. Casey became a partner in 2014 and assumed day-to-day leadership in 2015, when Doyle transitioned to Chair of the Board. ICA has employed more than 1,300 individuals from 131 countries, often providing a first job in the United States for language professionals. Register now for the 2026-27 school year! Serving families in our community since 1962, Redeemer Renaissance Preschool provides premiere early childhood education for children ages 1.5 - 5 years old. Classes for 2's, 3's, and 4's are offered for mornings and all day. Good Beginnings, a class for children and their caretaker, is offered for children 1.5 years - 2.5 years. Children learn and flourish as they wonder and learn, building a foundation to ensure their success through use of the Creative Curriculum, vetted by the Virginia Department of education. The curriculum is play-based and with nature-based components incorporated, promotes healthy development in children as they discover and explore in our outdoor natural play area.﻿﻿ Small classes led by experienced teachers can be found singing, jumping, building, making friends, painting, writing, counting, and observing chickens hatch as one of their STEM projects in the Learning Lab. Days when the weather is too cold or rainy find classes in the full-size indoor gym and fellowship hall. Children find joy in activities such as riding trikes, building with large manipulatives, designing and testing obstacle courses, running, throwing balls, and playing games. Families of preschoolers are partners with staff, engaging with their child's teachers and attending events for children and families scheduled throughout the school year. I am an experienced Piano Teacher with over two decades experience, teaching ages 2 1/2-adult. For children, it is an important addition to their education to be able to read music. I teach piano technique and theory at all levels so that a student can play with a beautiful tone and understand what they are playing on the deeper level.
