Write your verse with Arlington's Poet Laureate

Come to Mary Riley Styles Public Library for an afternoon of poetry with Jennifer Kronovet, the Poet Laureate of Arlington County!

After reading excerpts of new work, Kronovet will guide attendees through a creative exercise that writers of all experience levels can enjoy. Whether you live and breathe poetry or are simply testing the waters, you’re sure to leave refreshed and inspired.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jennifer Kronovet is the author of two poetry collections and a teacher at Washington-Liberty High School in Arlington, Virginia. The Wug Test (Ecco Press) was selected for the National Poetry Series in the US, and  Awayward (BOA Editions) won the 2008 A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize.

Using the name Jennifer Stern, Kronovet collaborated on a translation of Empty Chairs (Graywolf Press) by Chinese poet Liu Xia. She also co-translated The Acrobat by experimental Yiddish writer Celia Dropkin and co-founded Circumference Books, a press for poetry in translation where she serves as editor. She is currently the Poet Laureate of Arlington County in Virginia.
