1. 10/25: A Celebration of the Lost & Found (nrvnews.com) — Floyd residents can look forward to a special bluegrass tribute to The Lost & Found at the Floyd Country Store on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 7 p.m. The evening features an all-star band, guest performers, and a celebration of the band's Hall of Fame induction and the legacy of founding member Allen Mills, with in-person tickets and a $10 livestream option.
2. Cheapest gas stations in Blacksburg (insidenova.com) — Drivers in Floyd will want to note that Exxon on East Main Street is tied for one of the region's lowest gas prices at $3.99 a gallon. The roundup compares prices across nearby towns like Dublin, Christiansburg, Fairlawn, and Pulaski, helping you decide whether it's worth leaving Floyd to fill up.
3. Bath County Golf Builds Momentum at Regionals (virginianreview.com) — A regional high school golf tournament held in Floyd County saw Bath County finish fifth but significantly improve its team score compared with last year. Auburn and Fort Chiswell advanced to the state tournament, while Bath County's young players gained experience and confidence ahead of hosting regionals in the Pioneer District next season.
4. $2.75 million coming to Martinsville and Henry County (whee.net) — Floyd County is set to receive nearly $1.8 million in federal Community Development Block Grant funding for an infrastructure and housing project, part of a larger statewide package. The money, announced by Governor Abigail Spanberger, will support new or rehabilitated housing and infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving affordability and quality of life across Virginia.
