$100K Powerball Lottery Winner Rarely Ever Played

"The numbers started to match, and I began to breathe hard," lottery winner Debbie Taylor said.

There were a lot of lottery players who bought a rare Powerball ticket Wednesday for their shot at $1.5 billion.

Debbie Taylor was one of those players, buying a few tickets as the jackpot climbed to a record level. And it paid off big — $100,000 big.

“I think I’ve played less than ten times in my life,” Taylor said.

“The numbers started to match, and I began to breathe hard,” she told lottery officials as she claimed her prize.

Taylor, of Stafford, matched four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball number. The standard $50,000 prize was doubled because Taylor spent an extra dollar for Power Play.

She bought the winning ticket by picking her own numbers at the Wawa at 15 Eustace Road in Stafford.

Taylor said she planned to pay bills with her winnings and maybe go out for a nice dinner.
