2 Fredericksburg Men Sentenced For Roles In Drug Trafficking Ring
Two men were sentenced Friday for their roles in a large-scale drug trafficking ring that operated in the Fredericksburg area.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Two men were sentenced in federal court on Friday for their roles in a large-scale drug trafficking ring that operated in the Fredericksburg area.
Following a year-long investigation by task force agents with the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Administration, investigators determined that, between July 2022 and through April 2023, 48-year-old Omar Jermel Dixon of Fredericksburg distributed controlled substances, including cocaine, fentanyl, and synthetic cathinone (“Molly”), to other members of the organization, according to court documents.
When agents arrested Dixon on June 22, 2023, they found $11,090 in drug money in his home, as well as a pistol in his vehicle, according to court documents. Dixon pleaded guilty on Oct. 13, 2023 to distributing more than 500 grams of cocaine.

FBI and DEA agents determined that one of the organization members Dixon supplied cocaine to was 44-year-old Alphonso Lamont Jones of Fredricksburg. Jones would distributed the drugs and returned the proceeds to Dixon, according to court documents. On June 22, 2023, Jones was arrested at his home. He then pleaded guilty on Oct. 13, 2023 to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine.
On Friday, Judge David J. Novak of the Eastern District of Virginia sentenced Dixon to 10 years and Jones 5 years in prison, according to a release.

The investigation into the Fredericksburg drug operation resulted in several other arrests and convictions.
Agents arrested 49-year-old Ricardo Maurice Morton, aka Cardi of Ruther seized approximately 90 grams of cocaine from his home. Morton pleaded guilty on Oct. 6, 2023 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and was sentenced on March 5 to five years in prison, according to court documents.
Officers arrested 31-year-old Kelsey Dean Monroe Jr., aka Lil’ Man on April 26, 2023, and seized one kilogram of Molly. Monroe pleaded guilty on Oct. 6, 2023 to possession with intent to distribute N,N,-Dimethylpentylone and was sentenced to one year and three months in prison, according to court documents.
On Oct. 17, 2023, 46-year-old Leonard Marcel Smith, aka Leonard Marcel Davis of Fredericksburg and 54-year-old Lanier Anthony Jackson, aka Dewey Spotsylvania pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, according to court documents. Both Smith and Jackson acted as drivers and lookouts for Dixon. Smith was sentence on March 25 to one year and nine months in prison and Jackson was sentenced on March 28 to six months in prison.
