2 Fredericksburg Schools On Lockdown Due To Shooting Investigaiton
Two Fredericksburg City schools were on lockdown Wednesday afternoon as police investigated a shooting nearby, authorities say.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA —Two Fredericksburg City schools were put on lockdown Thursday afternoon due to a nearby shooting, according to authorities.
Fredericksburg police were conducting a shooting investigation in the 1100 block of Dunning Mills Road, according to a 3:43 p.m. post on the department's official Facebook page.
"There is heavy police presence," the post said. "Avoid area and use alternative routes. We will update you with details as they become available"

All city schools were on in-door instruction, according to police. However, Lafayette and Gladys West elementary schools were on lockdown.
