2 Men With Outstanding Warrants Arrested During Fredericksburg Traffic Stop
The Fredericksburg Police Department said the arrests were made Wednesday on Emancipation Highway.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Two men wanted on outstanding Spotsylvania County warrants were arrested after a traffic stop in Fredericksburg led to the discovery of illegal drugs, police said.
According to the Fredericksburg Police Department, an officer was on patrol Wednesday when he observed suspicious activity involving two people in the 300 block of Amaret Street. The officer recognized one of the men as Damien Stewart, who was wanted on active warrants.
Police said Stewart and the second man, later identified as Brian Hart, got into a vehicle and attempted to leave the area. Police later stopped the vehicle on Emancipation Highway.

Stewart was taken into custody without incident and served with Spotsylvania County warrants charging him with brandishing, assault and carrying a concealed weapon. He was turned over to Spotsylvania County authorities.
Hart was also found to have active warrants from Spotsylvania County and was arrested without incident.

Additional officers and a K-9 unit responded to the scene, and the police dog conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle. A subsequent search led to the seizure of multiple illegal narcotics, according to police.
Hart was served with outstanding warrants for obscene communication and was additionally charged with possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance.
He was transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail and is being held on a $1,500 secured bond.
