Four Injured In Felony Hit And Run Crash On Chatham Bridge: Report
Stafford County Sheriff's deputies arrested a driver they say struck another vehicle while he was attempting a U-turn on Chatham Bridge.

FREDERICKSBURG,VA — A 24-year-old Stafford man is facing multiple charges, including felony hit and run with personal injuries, in connection to a crash that occurred Saturday afternoon on Chatham Bridge, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Deputy J.E. Cordes responded around 3:29 p.m. to the intersection of Chatham Heights Road and Kings Highway formultiple reports of a crash. A preliminary investigation determined that while attempting a U-turn on the Chatham Bridge, a Jeep Wrangler struck a Honda Civic. Four occupants from the Honda were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to a SCSO report.
Investigators determined that the Jeep Wrangler continued toward the wood line after the crash, where the driver exited the vehicle and ran into the woods. Cordes searched the Jeep, which was still running, and found the purchase paperwork for the vehicle and a cellphone. With these, he was able to identify the driver as Antonio Mascorro, according to the report.

Deputies searched the area and located Mascorro in the vicinity of Naomi Road, where he was detained by Deputy S.A. Helsley. Mascorro told deputies that he fled the scene because the Jeep was not insured, according to the report.
Deputies arrested Mascorro and charged him with felony hit and run with personal injuries, reckless driving, driving while suspended, conducting an illegal U-Turn, having expired registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was then taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was held without bond
