After 8 Months In The Shelter, Nala's Ready For Her Forever Home
Nala, a 2-year-old dog available for adoption through the Fredericksburg SPCA, is ready to find her forever home.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Nala is a 2-year-old dog up for adoption through the Fredericksburg SPCA. After 8 months at the shelter, Nala is ready to find a forever home of her own.
Nala is smart and well-trained. Any family that chooses to adopt her will also receive three free training sessions with the SPCA's behavioral coordinator to keep her development going.
"She's a highly intelligent gal and has been working closely with our Behavior Coordinator to exercise her mind and body," the SPCA told Patch. "She's been working on muzzle training and mastering her cues like sit, stay, down, touch, and shake!"

Nala is a friendly girl who gets along well with other dogs. The SPCA said she lived with other animals in her first home, and she's done well in play dates at the shelter.
She has not always been as receptive to new people, but she's getting better.

"When she came to us, new people made her very nervous, so this training has been instrumental to her growth," the SPCA said. "Nala gets to meet new people several times a week and has had many successful meet-and-greets thanks to staff & volunteers diligently building her confidence."
Nala's favorite activites involve water. It doesn't matter to her whether it's from a hose, a pool, a spray bottle, an ocean, or a lake. She just likes to splash and bite at the waves.
"Nala is a big ball of love who thinks she is the size of a Yorkie and wants to be curled up in your lap," the SPCA said. "When it is bedtime and she gets to sleep in the human bed, she loves to curl up on your pillow and rest her head on yours."
