Fredericksburg Woman Charged In Jan. 31 Crash Near Blue & Grey Parkway, Dixon Street

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Fredericksburg woman faces felony and misdemeanor charges after a single-vehicle crash Jan. 31 near the Dixon Street and Blue & Grey Parkway interchange, according to authorities.

Fredericksburg police officers responded that day to a crash involving driver Grace Hill and one passenger. Officers and paramedics provided medical aid to Hill before she was taken to a nearby hospital, according to police. The passenger also was transported for treatment of serious injuries.

The investigation found the vehicle struck several snow mounds, crossed ice-covered medians and traveled through merging lanes before striking a tree head-on, according to police. During the initial investigation, officers developed reason to believe Hill may have been under the influence of narcotics at the time of the crash and that speed was also a contributing factor, police reported.

Police said evidence was collected at the scene and later processed by the state lab. After receiving the lab results, warrants were obtained for Hill on Wednesday, according to police. The warrants were executed the same day by the King George County Sheriff’s Office, and Hill was given a personal recognizance bond, police said.

Hill was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, a misdemeanor under Virginia code 18.2-266; maiming of another while intoxicated, a felony under 18.2-51.4; reckless driving, a misdemeanor under 46.2-851; and possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, a felony under 18.2-250, according to police.

Hill is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. on Monday in Fredericksburg General District Court, according to court documents. A preliminary hearing has not been set.

The most serious charge Hill is facing is possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, which is a Class 5 felony. If she is convicted on this charge, she faces a potential sentence of one to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $2,500, under the Code of Virginia.

Hill also has a hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. on June 17 in King George General District Court to face two misdemeanor counts of violating a protective order, according to court documents. The charges are related to two separate offenses, one on Oct. 30, 2025 and the other on Nov. 8, 2025.

The report did not identify the passenger or provide an update on that person’s condition beyond saying the injuries were serious.
