Witnesses provided deputies with additional information about the suspect's vehicle, according to the sheriff's office.

A short time later, a sergeant responded to a separate crash on Berkshire Drive involving a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses. Deputies made contact with the driver, who allegedly admitted to striking the victim's vehicle on Route 610 while racing, the sheriff's office said.

The driver was identified as Anthony Castro Asencio, 19, of Stafford.

Castro Asencio was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run and reckless driving. He was taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was being held without bond.

The charges are allegations, and Castro Asencio is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
