FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A driver was arrested on a second-offense DWI charge after a Jeep struck a fence and gate in Fredericksburg, according to police and court records.
On Friday, an officer was dispatched to investigate a report of a black Jeep crashing in the 1300 block of Lafayette Boulevard. Speaking to the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment, police said.
The driver was identified by police as Joshua Curran, 26, of Stafford. Following a DUI investigation, Curran was arrested and charged with driving under the influence for a second time within five years with a blood alcohol concentration greater than 0.20, according to information provided by police.
Curran was initially held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, police said.
Curran was arraigned on Monday, according to the court records. An attorney-review hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sept. 15.
A charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
