Investigation Remains Active

The sheriff's office asked residents to avoid the area to allow deputies at the scene to work. Authorities said the investigation remained active and ongoing and that additional information would be released as it became available.

Shortly after 4 p.m., the sheriff's office announced that the partial lockdown at Edward E. Drew Middle School had been lifted.
