Stafford Deputies Search For Missing, Endangered Man Who May Have Knife

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — The Stafford County Sheriff's Office was searching Wednesday evening for a missing and endangered man who authorities said may be armed with a knife.

A large police presence was reported around Pepper Tree Lane and Regester Chapel Road as deputies attempted to locate the man, according to a sheriff's office social media post issued at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday.

The sheriff's office described the missing man as white, in his mid-40s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. He has tattoos on his arms.

Authorities said he may be wearing a black short-sleeve shirt with "NRA" on it, dark brown pants and either light green Nike shoes or brown work boots.

The sheriff's office warned residents not to approach or engage with the man because he may have a knife. Anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately.
