Armed Teen Led Stafford Deputies On A Chase In A Stolen Van: Police
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Monday after he lead police on a chase in a stolen van while armed with a stolen gun, authorities said.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A teenage boy was arrested on Monday in Stafford County after leading police on chase that reached up to 80 miles per hour, the sheriff's office said. The boy was driving a van that was stolen from Prince William County and had a gun from Fairfax County.
Authorities have not identified the boy by name, due to a Virginia law that protects the identities of minors. He is charged with eluding police, possession of a handgun by a juvenile and unlawful possession of a stolen firearm. He is being held at the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center.
The owner of the stolen van was tracking the vehicle through GPS and contacted police around 7:30 p.m. on Monday. A deputy tried to stop the van in the parking lot of the Aquia Animal Hospital, but the driver sped away, authorities said.

When more deputies responded, the driver of the van sped up to 80 miles per hour. Eventually, he drove into a dead end and took the van down an embankment, according to Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
The boy tried to run away from deputies, but he was taken into custody. Authorities found a firearm that was reported stolen from Fairfax County in the boy's pocket.
