Attempted Abduction At Fredericksburg Fairgrounds Leads To Arrest
Police arrested a 46-year-old Stafford County man they say tried to abduct a 5-year-old girl at the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds on Sunday.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 46-year-old Stafford County man is being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail after being arrested Sunday for trying to abduct a 5-year-old girl, according to the Fredericksburg Police.
A Fredericksburg Sheriff's deputy contacted police around 4 p.m., and reported an attempted abduction at the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds.
The deputy told police that he was working an event at the fairgrounds when a woman told him that she'd seen a man try to physically lead a girl into the men's restroom.

A Fredericksburg Police detective and patrol officers responded to the fairgrounds and interviewed the witness and the girl's family, who said they didn't know the suspect. After receiving a description of the man, police identified and arrested him, according to police.
Fredericksburg Police charged Francisco Gerardo Amaya Sosa of Stafford County with abduction.
