Aubrey Earl Trigg, 76

Aubrey Earl Trigg, 76, of Spotsylvania went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 4, 2015. Mr. Trigg “A.T.” passed away quietly at his home after a long illness.

Aubrey was the only child of Robert Earl Trigg and Anna Isabella Coleman Trigg. He graduated from Spotsylvania High School and worked as a Utilities Systems foreman in Quantico. After retiring in 1995, Aubrey enjoyed working and driving for the Fredericksburg Auto Auction.

Aubrey was always active in the community, and was a member of the Knights of Pythias #122, BPOE Elks Lodge #875, and the Eagles of both Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg. He was Pythian of the Year in 1997. He was also a lifetime member of Goshen Baptist Church, where he served as both a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.

Aubrey was always young at heart and enjoyed numerous leisure activities. He loved to fish and boat, and was a treasurer for the Belle Plains Boat Club for many years. He was a worldwide traveler and enjoyed many trips and cruises with his wife, Debbie. Aubrey never knew a stranger, and collected new friends wherever he went.

When not traveling, Aubrey could be found relaxing in his recliner with his beloved dogs, Colonel and Lady. He enjoyed working around his house and watching football and NASCAR.

Aubrey is survived by his wife, Debbie Heflin Trigg, stepdaughter Vickie Mitchell Neely (Bill), step-brother Ollie Stephens; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Aubrey, beloved husband, brother, and uncle, will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His kind and caring nature endeared him to everyone who knew him.

His family would like to extend a special thanks to Mike and Elna Morris, Yvar Tavara, Dolly Donis, Rose Foster, Lourdes Cabudil, and Krystal Heflin, who provided competent and loving care to him during his prolonged illness. The family would also like to thank Mary Washington Hospice and Dr. McManus for all of their assistance and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Fredericksburg chapter of the SPCA, 10819 Courthouse Rd. Fredericksburg, VA 22408.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 8 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Darryl Delano, Eddie Bullock, Charles Hurlock, Clinton Johnson, James Barker and Sonny Tolley.
