Back To School: Fredericksburg's 2021-22 School Calendar

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Back to school planning has already begun in Fredericksburg with calendars to help parents and students prepare for the first day of school.

The first day of school for most students in the City of Fredericksburg is Tuesday, Aug. 10. Students in Stafford County will return on Monday, Aug. 9. Those in Spotsylvania County will return to class on Thursday, Aug. 12.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in the Fredericksburg area.

The Stafford, Fredericksburg, and Spotsylvania school systems have not yet announced a mask policy for the upcoming school year. However, new guidance released by the CDC has recommended all students in K-12 settings wear a mask. Some school districts in northern Virginia, including Fairfax County Public Schools, have already updated their mask guidelines for the upcoming school year in accordance with CDC recommendations.

City of Fredericksburg Public Schools

First Day: Tuesday, August 10

Thanksgiving Break: Wednesday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Nov. 26. Students will also have early dismissal on Tuesday, Nov. 23.

Winter Break: Monday, Dec. 10 through Sunday, Jan. 2. Students return to classes on Monday, Jan. 3.

Spring Break: Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18.

Last Day: Thursday, May 26

Stafford County Public Schools

First Day: Monday, Aug. 9

Thanksgiving Break: Wednesday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Nov. 26

Winter Break: Monday, Dec. 20 through Monday, Jan. 3. Students return to class on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Spring Break: Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18

Last Day: Wednesday, May 25

Spotsylvania County Public Schools

First Day: Thursday, Aug. 12.

Thanksgiving Break: Wednesday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Nov. 26.

Winter Break: Monday, Dec. 20 through Monday, Jan. 3. Students return to classrooms on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Spring Break: Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18
