Bank Robbery Reported In Spotsylvania, Suspect Arrested: Police

A man accused of robbing a bank in Spotsylvania on Wednesday was also suspected of robbing a bank in Woodbridge earlier this month.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — A man robbed the Carter Bank and Trust on Courthouse Road in Spotsylvania on Wednesday, according to the sheriff's office. Authorities arrested a suspect on Thursday.

Police identified the suspect as David Emanuel Andrews, a 27-year-old man from Dumfries. Andrews was arrested in Prince William County on Thursday in connection with a bank robbery that occurred in Woodbridge earlier this month.

Andrews is charged with one count of robbery in connection with the Spotsylvania bank robbery. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

The robbery at the Carter Bank and Trust occurred around 12 p.m. on Wednesday. Witnesses told authorities that the robber had already driven away, according to the police report.

Investigators recovered evidence at the scene and identified Andrews as the suspect. Detectives helped Prince William County police officers search Andrews's home in Dumfries on Thursday.
