Barricade Situation Leads To Arrests In Fredericksburg: Police

Two wanted people were arrested on Wednesday after a barricade situation in Fredericksburg's Wellington Woods apartment complex.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Two people were arrested on Thursday after a barricade situation at the Wellington Woods apartment complex, the Fredericksburg Police Department said.

No injuries were reported in the incident, authorities said.

The police department identified the two suspects as 31-year-old Mickel Brown and 35-year-old Jacqueline Pinnock. Brown was charged with obstruction and providing false ID to law enforcement. Pinnock was charged with attempted malicious wounding on law enforcement and obstruction of justice.

Brown was also served warrants from Stafford and Spotsylvania for violation of felony offense, possession of schedule I/II drugs, contempt of court, failure to appear, resisting arrest, and falsely identifying self to law enforcement.

The incident started around 9 a.m. on Thursday morning when authorities tried to serve Brown his outstanding warrants.

"Once officers made contact with the subjects inside, they refused to exit the apartment and barricaded themselves inside the residence," the Fredericksburg Police Department said in a report.

Authorities called in the crisis negotiation team and the Special Equipment Tactical Team to assist the situation.

"After lengthy negotiations, the two individuals were taken into custody by SETT without further incident," the police department said.
