Battle of Fredericksburg Remembrance This Weekend on 154th Anniversary
The events will be held in and around Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park both Saturday and Sunday.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The 154th anniversary of the Civil War's Battle of Fredericksburg will feature a series of lectures, presentations, re-enactments, tours and other things Friday and Saturday.
The events will be held in around Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park.
It's an effort to tell the story of the battle and it's impact on the people who lived in the area, the soldiers and that nation at large.

Here's information about the battle (Dec. 11-15, 1862), which culminated with General R. E. Lee's Confederate troops turning back an invasion by Union Major General Ambrose Burnside.
Saturday's events will conclude with a gathering at historic St. George's Episcopal Church with a dramatic mix of narration, images and music.

Sunday's events will conclude with a "Program of Remembrance" along the historic Sunken Road.
