Belle Plains Murder: Stuart Sullivan Sentenced Tuesday

Sullivan was convicted of second-degree murder last year for the 2007 death of Jason Plaster.

A Stafford County man was sentenced to almost 13 years in prison Monday, Nov. 23, for his part in the murder and burial of a man on Belle Plains Road in 2007, according to The Free Lance-Star.

Stuart Lee Sullivan Jr., 50 of Stafford, was convicted in December of 2013 for the murder of Jason Plaster. Plaster’s body was found on Belle Plains Road in May of 2013, six years after he had been reported missing.

Sullivan, William Hughes and Dennis Paul Benzie were all involved in Plaster’s death, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Hughes was sentenced to 27 years in prison for the crime. According to the Free Lance-Star, he reportedly was upset that Plaster exposed himself to Hughes’s wife and attempted to have sex with their daughter.
