STAFFORD, VA — A young woman is being held without bond for her role in her boyfriend's apparent heroin overdose Monday at the Red Roof Inn on Warrenton Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Kalynn Helton, 20, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled paraphernalia, identity theft, false identity to law enforcement and vandalism.
Shortly after 8 a.m., police arrived at the motel for a reported overdose and found a man already being loaded into an ambulance. Helton, who told them she was "Kelsie Lynn" Helton, said around a half hour before midnight she found her boyfriend unresponsive on their motel room floor but gave him CPR and he appeared "fine" afterward.
Later that morning, though, he collapsed while complaining of chest pain. Helton said her boyfriend uses heroin but claimed she hadn't seen him in the act. But then one of Helton's family members arrived and told police her real name was "Kalynn" Helton, and that she had used her sister's ID information. Furthermore, police found she was wanted out of Stafford and Fredericksburg on felony drug charges.
