Parks and Rec Gets Set for Halloween

Spooky Stories by the Shore and Halloween Hullaballoo are now open for registration. Make sure to register early before both events are full!

Halloween is probably most children’s second favorite holiday. The costumes, free candy, and parties all conjure up images of All Hallows’ Eve. This month the Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Dept. is offering two great activities for children of all ages.

First is our Spooky Stories by the Shore at Mott Run Reservoir. Follow a magical, lantern-lit trail to the water’s edge.  Then we will warm you with hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows before we chill you to the bone with spooky stories and other surprises. It’s great family fun…so be sure to secure your spot of doom soon. Dress warmly and bring a flashlight and blanket. For ages 5 and up. PRE-REGISTRATION is required. $5 fee for children & adults. Children under 5 can attend with a paying adult. This is great fun for all ages!!!! October 14th at Motts Run Reservoir from 7-8PM.

Next is our Halloween Hullaballoo. Our annual Halloween party promises to be more fun than ever before. Perfect for young children, our party has games, activities, and an afternoon full of ghosts, goblins and goodies!! Everyone is invited and costumes are encouraged. A hautingly good time for everyone. For all ages. PRE-REGISTRATION is required. $7 a ticket. Registered goblins will receive a ticket at the door. Saturday Oct. 22nd from 11:00AM – 1:30PM at the Dorothy Hart Community Center.
