Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Dept. offering a trip to see the Navy Band Concert!

Take a trip with the Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation! Enjoy a performance under the stars by the musicians of the Navy Band. We will arrive early so you can take in the sites around the Naval Center.
Each summer, the United States Navy Band proudly presents the Concerts on the Avenue. The Concerts on the Avenue serves as a premier recurring concert series from June through August. On select Tuesday evenings, all of the ensembles of the Navy Band come together for a combined concert at the United States Navy Memorial, located at 701 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, D.C. The Navy Memorial serves as an ideal venue for a casual, outdoor concert that appeals to families.
The Concerts on the Avenue is a combined concert featuring members of the Concert Band, Sea Chanters, Cruisers, Commodores and Country Current. The diverse talents and musical specialties of these groups allow the Navy Band to present a wide range of musical styles and genres to eager crowds. Past Concerts on the Avenue have included Broadway medleys, John Philip Sousa marches, selections from "Glee" and music by artists such as Phil Stacy and Earth, Wind & Fire.
The Concerts on the Avenue also features the participation of the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard. The combination of the Ceremonial Guard and the many ensembles of the Navy Band reflects the unity of the Navy and helps to provide the most comprehensive concert experience possible.
