Brrrr! Freeze, Frost Advisories Issued for Northern Virginia Overnight

Chilly air will settle over much of the state overnight, with part of Northern Virginia under a freeze warning and other counties under a frost advisory early Tuesday as temperatures drop into the upper 30s, the National Weather Service says.

Washington, DC, and much of Viriginia is under the advisory from 2-8 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service warned Monday afternoon. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if you don't bring them inside or cover them, the weather service advised.

The area west of the DC suburbs in Virginia is under a freeze warning, including Prince William, Manassas, Stafford, and Spotsylvania counties, as well as the cities of Dale City, Manassas, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Montclair, Falmouth and Fredericksburg.

Areas in the frost advisory include the city of Washington, D.C., plus Charlottesville, Reston, Herndon, Annandale, Centreville, Chantilly, McLean, Franconia, Arlington, Alexandria, and Dahlgren.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 40. Light and variable wind.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 67.

Tuesday night: A chance of showers after 1 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: Showers likely, mainly before 1 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 59.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43.

Veterans Day: Sunny, with a high near 62.

Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 34.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 56.
