Brrrr: Frost Advisory Issued For Northern Virginia, DC
The National Weather Service predicts a drop in temperatures and a chance of frost by Friday morning.

STERLING, VA—It truly feels like fall this week in Northern Virginia, and the National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory overnight for parts of the state, along with Washington, D.C. Sensitive plants may die if left outside uncovered, according to the forecasters, which say widespread frost is expected during the advisory period, which runs 1- 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid 30s by dawn, especially away from larger bodies of water and urban areas, the weather service says.
Areas affected include DC, Charlottesville, Stanardsville, Madison, Orange, Gordonsville, Culpeper, Dale City, Manassas, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Montclair, Reston, Herndon, Annandale, Centreville, Chantilly, McLean, Franconia, Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, Falmouth, Fredericksburg, Dahlgren, Warrenton, Turnbull, Purcellville, Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, Big Meadows, Wintergreen, Charlottesville, Stanardsville, Madison, Orange, Gordonsville and Culpeper.
