Burglar Steals Antique Typewriter from Storefront

According to a police report, Fredericksburg police are investigating several recent break-ins and burglaries:

• The business owner at Massage Therapy, 1105 Caroline St., reported that an unknown person forced open the front door at some time between 12:30 a.m. and 9:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, and stole an antique typewriter from a table inside the shop.
• The owner of Pitts Automotive, 2610 Princess Anne St., reported that an unknown person gained access to the store at some time between Sunday and Monday morning by shattering the front window. A box was stolen from the front counter. The theft was discovered at 7:30 a.m. Monday.
  
• A resident in an apartment above Quilts and Treasures, 814 Caroline St., reported at 4:15 a.m. Monday that he heard an unknown person inside the building downstairs. When he shouted for the unknown person to leave, the resident heard running footsteps, but was unsure if the person had left the premises. Officers searched the business but were unable to locate anyone inside.
