Burn Marks on Child's Face Leads to Arrests in Stafford: Police

An infant was found sleeping in the bed and two adults were charged with abuse and neglect of children: Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

STAFFORD, VA — A 5-year-old girl was found with burn marks to her forehead, nose, chin and ears early last Friday morning at the Days Inn on Simpson Road, and two guardians were arrested, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Carmen Melissa Mclain Robinson, 35, and Norris Tywell Robinson, 41, were charged with abuse, neglect of children and failure to secure medical attention for an injured child.

Shortly before 3 a.m., police responded to the scene after receiving an anonymous call saying that two adults and two children were residing in a hotel room, and that the female possibly could be having a mental breakdown.

Once in the room, police found a sleeping infant on the bed and an adult male standing nearby, who then was escorted out of the room. The bathroom door was locked and police ordered the occupants to exit, which the adult female did and was escorted out of the room.

That's when police found the young girl standing fully clothed in the bathtub. Rescue units arrived and both children were handed over to Child Protective Services.

Several lighters were found in the room, as well an an open Bible and a cellphone playing some kind of religious music.
