Bus, Cement Truck Crash In Stafford, 1 Driver Flown To Hospital: Police

The driver of a motor coach was hospitalized on Friday after a crash involving a cement truck in Stafford County, according to authorities.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — One person was hospitalized after a crash between a motor coach and a cement truck in Stafford County on Friday morning. The crash occurred on Garrisonville Road near Rock Hill Church Road, police said.

Authorities responded to the scene of the crash around 9 a.m. on Friday morning, Major Shawn Kimmitz said in a report.

"The motor coach was turning off of Rock Hill Church Road to proceed toward Fauquier County on Garrisonville Road," Kimmitz said. "As it did this, the cement truck, which was headed eastbound on Garrisonville Road, struck the motor coach on the driver's side."

The driver of the motor coach was thrown from their vehicle during the crash. He was flown to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

No passengers were on the motor coach at the time of the accident. The cement truck driver was uninjured, police said.

"Our deputies will be out for several hours investigating this incident, so please find an alternate route of travel," Kimmitz said in the video, which was posted around 10 a.m. on Friday.
