Business Leader Meets Future Workforce at Minnieland

Special event at Minnieland showcases quality early learning as the foundation for workforce development.

George Hughes, President of SimVentions, Inc. in Fredericksburg, met members of the future workforce during a recent special event at Minnieland, A Child’s Place II. He observed the preschoolers engaged in quality early learning activities to help prepare them for a smooth transition to kindergarten. The event was coordinated by Smart Beginnings Rappahannock Area as part of the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation’s “Back to School with Q” campaign to highlight quality as one of the key drivers for successful school readiness. “Young children with access to enriching early learning experiences are more likely to acquire the skills they need to enter kindergarten ready to succeed and adapt to new learning and social environments, and these are skills that will serve them well in their future careers,” said Hughes. “Virginia’s business community has long recognized that the early years are the first rung on the ladder to workforce success. Quite simply, the ABCs of school readiness start with Q!” For more information, visit www.smartbeginningsra.org.
