Make Sunday Hikes a weekly tradition--hike three-to-five miles paired with a furry buddy and enjoy the fresh air. Meet at ODHS at 7:45 a.m., and volunteers will match participants with rescue dogs. Then, the group will caravan to one of the many beautiful trails in Fredericksburg.

Experience history at <a href="https://www.eventcreate.com/e/virginiabytheglass" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Virginia By The Glass</a>, a free public speaker series at 1781 Brewing Company and Wilderness Run Vineyards. Created as part of 1781’s VA250 commemorative programming, the series begins July 9 with author and historian <a href="https://janecook.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Jane Hampton Cook</a>, followed by additional summer sessions featuring historians and educators sharing stories of Virginia history, local history, and the American story.&nbsp;
Guests can expect an easy evening on the farm with time to meet the speaker, ask questions, and continue the conversation afterward. Beer, wine, food, and cigars will be available on site.

Join ODHS dogs on easy, weekly Saturday Strolls at 7:45 a.m. Meet volunteers at the facility, where they’ll pair a dog with participants and head in a caravan to a different spot each week. The strolls are on flat, simple paths with an indoor backup for wet weather. Don’t miss the chance to get exercise, socialize with fellow dog lovers and give the pups a chance to explore.
