Carlos O'Kelly's In Stafford To Permanently Close This Month
The Stafford Carlos O'Kelly's location will permanently close its doors on Sunday, June 26, the business announced.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Carlos O'Kelly's location in Stafford will permanently close on Sunday, June 26. The restaurant announced the decision on Facebook earlier this week.
On the Facebook post announcing the change, more than 1,000 people commented. Fans of the restaurant shared their favorite memories spanning more than 30 years.
One commenter said she met her husband in 1993 on a blind date at Carlos O'Kelly's. They celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in February.

Others noted that they remembered coming to the restaurant as a child, only to take their own kids to dinner at Carlos O'Kelly's decades later.
In the Taste of Fredericksburg Facebook group, foodies in the area reminisced about Carlos O'Kelly's chips, salsa, and queso.

"We were always going there for family birthdays and celebrations; my son got his first job there," Rosie Lewis Desimone wrote on Facebook."It was the watering hole for anyone who lived in Aquia Harbour; the best restaurant in the area since the late 80s!"
Other commenters in the Taste of Fredericksburg group said they'll always remember the musical performances at the restaurant.
"I always really enjoyed going to karaoke night there years ago with my old Aquia 10 movie theater coworkers," Justin Wright wrote. "Every time I come back to VA to visit, it looks less and less like how I remembered it."
The Stafford location was the last Carlos O'Kelly's restaurant in Virginia.
