Carl's Ice Cream No. 1 in Virginia: Foursquare

If you've never been to near-legendary Carl's Ice Cream, you're missing out -- big time. Or so they say.

Well, here's what Foursquare says: Carl's is No. 1 in Virginia among places for ice cream.

That surely is no surprise to regular patrons. After all, we're talking about a place that's been featured on the Food Network.

Foursquare came to its conclusion largely based on users' technological banter, with all that encompasses.

Originally Carl's Frozen Custard, it was founded by Carl Sponseller in 1947, and in 2005 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
