Caught on Camera: Rolex Watch Stolen From Jewelry Store
The suspect is still at large following March 9 daylight theft, say city police.
Images: The suspect tried on the wristwatch, then ran out the door of the downtown jewelry store, city police said (Fredericksburg Police Department).
The Fredericksburg Police Department released four photos Tuesday of an unknown woman who stole a Rolex wristwatch worth more than $13,000 from a downtown jewelry store.
The suspect is still at large, and the Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. At about 3:17 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, she entered Crown Jewelers at 200 William St. and asked a salesperson for permission to try on a silver and gold Rolex DateJust wristwatch.

The unknown suspect put on the wristwatch and spoke with the salesperson for a few minutes before running out of the store with the watch, the police said. The suspect fled east on Caroline Street and turned into Market Square.
She's described as a black woman with a slender build, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches in height, with short curly hair. She was wearing a charcoal grey T-shirt, black pants and running shoes with pink stripes at the time of the incident, the city police said. She was carrying a black clutch purse with a turquoise stripe.
