FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Central Rappahannock Regional Library has announced that rising confirmed cases of the coronavirus have made it necessary for the library to temporary return to curbside pickup only.

The return to curbside services will begin on Tuesday, library officials announced this week, calling the decision to temporarily limit library services as difficult. In order to prioritize customer and staff safety, library buildings and study rooms at various branches within the system will not be used. Officials said that they plan to return to Library Express service and branch visits when local cases of the coronavirus subside and plan to do so by Feb. 16. Any updates will be made on social media or on the library system’s website.

Library customers will still be able to place items on hold and then collect them using curbside pickup, which means that the ability to check items out from the library will not be interrupted. Other library services are also available online and materials can be returned to local book drop locations any time. Overdue fees are not being charged this time.
