LATEST: Secret Service Agent, Time Photographer In Altercation at Trump Rally in VA

Press videos show news photographer at Trump rally in Radford on ground grappling with man in suit.

RADFORD, VA — A photographer for Time was wrestled to the ground at a Trump rally Monday afternoon in Radford by a man identified as a Secret Service agent.

A video shared on Twitter by Independent Journal reporter Joe Perticone shows a man, later identified as veteran Time White House photographer Chris Morris, with a camera on the ground, kicking his legs at a person Perticone describes as a secret service agent.

You can see the reporter being escorted away by other personnel at the end of the video. The man is heard telling the agent, ”You grabbed me by the neck.”

In a statement to the media, the Secret Service said it was aware of an incident involving an employee. “At this time, our local field office is working with their law enforcement partners to determine the exact circumstances that led up to this incident,” the statement reads. “The Secret Service will provide further details as warranted once additional facts surrounding the situation are known.”

Morris told an NBC reporter he was detained but not arrested and did “nothing to deserve throwdown.”

Time released a statement, reading: “We are relieved that Chris is feeling OK, and we expect him to be back at work soon.”

The media is a frequent rhetorical punching bag for Trump. Earlier in his comments Monday at the same rally, Trump told the audience that 50 percent of the media was “absolute sleaze,” according to Jenna Johnson with The Washington Post.
