Charles Samuel Holtzlander, Jr., 49, of Stafford passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015.

Chuck was born on October 6, 1965, in Richmond, VA, and was a 1984 graduate of Salem High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and traveled the world. After 10 years of active military service, Chuck began a career as a government contractor and continued to honor his commitment to the Navy serving in the U.S. Naval Reserves, retiring after 22 years of service. He pursued his educational goals and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Strayer University always striving to learn new things.

Chuck’s passion for cars and automotive repair ran deep throughout his life. His love of cars was something he and his Dad, the late Charles Holtzlander, Sr., shared for many years, treasuring the time the two of them spent together. He gave freely of his time and was always there to help anyone in need. Chuck had an incredible zest for life, a kind heart and an infectious smile. He cherished his many friendships, but his greatest love was for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Holtzlander; his two daughters, Katherine Ehlers and Jenna MacKenzie Holtzlander; his two stepsons, Christopher Lambe and Bryan Lambe; his mother, Brenda Holtzlander; his brothers, William Holtzlander and his wife, Tina; and Gerald Holtzlander and his wife, Melissa; and brother-in-law, Tim Henney. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, many friends and his beloved family pets Lily & Gunner.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 18825 Fuller Heights Rd., Triangle, VA. The family will welcome all those who loved Chuck to celebrate his life at a luncheon in the Parish reception hall immediately following the funeral Mass. Donations may be made in his memory to St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
