Chase Ends With Crash, Arrest In Stafford: Police

A guy who really, really didn't want to be arrested was arrested Saturday after a high-speed chase in Stafford: SCSO.

STAFFORD, VA—A guy who really, really didn't want to be arrested was arrested Saturday afternoon on Route 1 near Garrisonville Road after a high-speed chase ended in a crash, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Casildo Agosto, 26, of Dumfries, was charged with eluding police, driving with no license, driving an unregistered vehicle, reckless driving and possession of marijuana.

Around noon, police noticed a white Mercedes car with no front tag headed north on Route 1 near Coal Landing Road. He had DMV run the rear tag and it came up as not being on file, so he attempted a traffic stop but the car suddenly took off, weaving in and out of traffic and using the shoulder to pass other vehicles.

When the Mercedes went north of the I-95 interchange, it made a U turn. Then, while trying to enter the I-95 northbound ramp, the driver lost control and crashed into several trees.
