Check-Cashing Business Robbed By Armed Man In Fredericksburg: Police

An armed man robbed a check-cashing business in Fredericksburg Wednesday night, leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

At around 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, a man entered Checks Cashed at 1301 Emancipation Highway in Fredericksburg, displaying a firearm and demanding money, Fredericksburg Police said.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — An armed man robbed a check-cashing business in Fredericksburg Wednesday night, leaving the business with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

At around 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the man entered Checks Cashed at 1301 Emancipation Highway, displaying a firearm and demanding money, police said. The suspect left on foot and crossed Emancipation Highway.

Fredericksburg Police officers set up a perimeter around the business and a K-9 was brought to the scene to track the suspect.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who is described as a Black male wearing a reflective shirt, sunglasses, surgical mask, and a backward khaki baseball cap. The police department released a photo of the robbery suspect.
