City Of Fredericksburg To Send Out Corrected Property Tax Bills

The City of Fredericksburg is sending out corrected property tax bills to residents after previously sending out incorrect bills.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Fredericksburg residents should keep an eye on their mail because the city is planning to send out corrected property tax bills starting tomorrow. In a statement on the city's website, officials said the new personal property tax bills are coming after ones previously sent contained incorrect balances.

The city said the incorrect balances were due to human error and pertain only to the city's most recent property tax bills. Payment is due Nov. 15, but due to the error, the Treasurer’s Office will not charge any penalties or interest on the corrected bills so long as payment is received by Nov. 22.

The corrected bills can be viewed online. Anyone with questions about their bill or current property tax status is encouraged to contact the Treasurer’s Office at 540-372-1001.
