City's New Budget Chief Brings Years Of Public Sector Experience
Brenna Erford, the city's new budget manager, has testified before numerous state legislative bodies on public sector budget policy.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The City of Fredericksburg hired Brenna Erford, a budget policy expert with experience working with municipal government and nonprofit groups, as its new budget manager. Erford will be responsible for offering support and expert advice to the Fredericksburg City Council on budget matters.
Erford has more than 17 years of public and private sector experience and, as an expert in state fiscal and budgetary policy, has testified before numerous state legislative bodies and professional associations. Immediately prior to joining the city, Erford founded Intersect Strategic Consulting, which provided strategic planning and legislative fiscal analysis to its clients.
Erford also managed the Laura and John Arnold Foundation's portfolio of philanthropic investments targeting improvements in the sustainability of federal, state and local public finance and retirement policy. She also worked with state and local government clients as a manager in consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal's public sector services practice in Washington.

Erford received a bachelor's degree in rhetoric from the University of Illinois and a master's degree in public administration from North Carolina State University.
