Cocaine Trafficking Investigation Leads To Fredericksburg Man's Arrest

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 28-year-old Fredericksburg man is facing multiple drug-related charges in connection with a long-term investigation by the Fredericksburg Police Department into cocaine distribution.

Based on their investigation, Fredericksburg detectives obtained warrants for three locations, one in the city and two in Spotsylvania County, according to police. With the help of several law enforcement agencies, investigators executed the warrants on July 10.

During the search of the three locations, police discovered approximately half a kilo of cocaine, 3 pounds of marijuana and about $17,000 in cash, according to police. At one of the locations, officers recovered a firearm stolen from Fredericksburg, as well as distribution paraphernalia.

With the help of Virginia State Police, Spotsylvania Narcotics Unit, Spotsylvania Street Crimes, and the FBI Fredericksburg Regional Narcotics Task Force, City of Fredericksburg police arrested Tai’eric Lewis of Fredericksburg in connection with the cocaine distribution investigation.

Lewis was charged with distribution/sell for profit schedule I/II, distribution/PWI marijuana, and two counts of abuse/neglect of child: reckless disregard for life. Police also seized Lewis' vehicle pending forfeiture. Additional charges are pending, as well.
