'Code Pink' for Fredericksburg Police Cruiser in October

Breast Cancer Awareness Month prompts department to make a statement with one of its Crown Victoria patrol cars.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The primary lettering on a Fredericksburg Police cruiser will be switched to pink in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The department says the Crown Victoria will "serve as a symbol of hope to not only those who are battling breast cancer but to those family members and friends that are fighting alongside them."

The cost to re-do the cruiser and then covert it back to regular colors was covered by three partners of the department: Mary Washington Healthcare, Summit Recycling, Sign Enterprise and Holt Nye Realty.
